I was born in Barnes-Hammersmith-but moved to Hayes in

Middlesex in1932 with my parents.Went to Yeading junior school after prep school, then followed a number of very different schools during the war.these were as diverse as a village school in Wiltshire with just six pupils to Ducane rd school in East Acton next to Wormwood scrubs prison-quite a culture shock for me!

Passed scholarship at 11yrs old and attended Acton Grammar school where I matriculated.Took a student apprenticeship in an engineering co  and took my H.N.C. In production engineering at Northampton Polytech.

Met my wife in1947-got married in1951 and promptly got called up for  national service 3 months later! Passed for flying training, served as flight engineer in Coastal Command flying Shackleton and Sunderland flying boats.

Worked all my life in engineering as works manager and director. Retired in 1990 to pursue my main hobbies of Photography and fishing.

Convinced by my children that I must have a computer I bought one few years ago and my wife doesn’t see me at all now!
